I love to ride my tri-cycle

granted, mine doesn't look exactly like this, but you get the idea. I have started riding mine everyday, and almost twice a day, and I was able to go up a flight of stairs w/o pain yesterday, yipeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! for now, I don't know if any weight has been lost, but I know muscle has been found.

my knees have been killing me and it was suggested that maybe it was the. muscle and not just the joints, so I have been working on that. Dan replaced my thin tires for all-terrain versions for dirt roads. I have no gears to change and only a front brake. Dan took the basket off a few years ago and put a plywood board on it for when the kids rode together. I would like my basket back, but I won't ask for now because Dan is busy with the deck still.

Dad Beach

So far this is where I am on the Beach and Dad. The picture on the fabric is the final print on fabric......I will try not to say that very fast.
These are the tests....for size, {draft prints, less ink} then color, {'best' print for final color}, and the double image because I was trying to be thrifty. {i did a 'draft' on the fabric, then went over that in the 'best' setting. hah!}

Answers for Comments

Comments are asked and not often answered...so I will try that today.

C: Must be hard for her mom to go back to work
A: I thought it would be, but Ashley seemed to do just fine! She was glad to get home to her babe, but she was also looking happy about being back at work. She works at a small neighborhood grocery store, has made friends with many of the customers, etc.

C: I love that photo of your dad. It will be fun to follow along and see what you do with this project. I am very curious about using photos and what techniques you will be using to incorporate all.
A: Thank you! I am going to try the printing today now that I have new printer ink!

C:Megan's hair cut is precious. She looks like an old fashioned little girl.
A: Thank You Christine! I love it too.

C: So sweet - what a lovely family - and the glasses - great!!!
A: thank you Jo, I thought the glasses were just what was called for.

C: WOW! They make purrrrdy children in Wash. Just gorgeous. Alexis
A: Blush

Ok. I think I am caught up....for the moment. Thank You everyone for leaving notes, I love chatting with you all.

Yesterday wasn't just all about Smiley Rhiley, I got some RIT dyeing in too. RIT? You said RIT dye??? Yup. RIT. I used it on towels and some old t-shirts. We have towels from long ago that are still very usable, just dull in color, so I brighten them up. Dan has some t-shirts now longer good for wearing to work, but good enough to turn into Muscle T's [hacked off sleeves] for yard work. I dyed them to make it easy to find them in the laundry.
<span class=<span class=<span class=<span class=
I mixed the yellows together. Still very bright. The blue was for the shirts. Worked very well on knit.

Have Baby?

Yup....we have Rhiley today...these pix may have to be self explanatory!
Deck update.....the planks aren't screwed down yet. Doesn't stop us from having a chair out there!
The dirt spot at the bottom is the pad for the cement for the ramp, instead of stairs.
Smiley Rhiley! In daddy's arms. 5 weeks old now. Mommy went back to work this a.m.
The prairie trip tick [tic?] is now renamed Buffalo Sunrise, and it is done! The pic above shows the colors better than the rest. Shows off the yarn sashing too.
Above:I meant to crop of the picture behind....Below: painting Steph style, again.
She felt her sun needed re-doing....this is still in progress....
hummmmm.......well.....Steph had a baggie of paint from last summer. She opened it a couple of days ago and found it had dried...sort of.....so she got to playing with it.....I need to take another shot of the final version of this muscle group. [it's done on the plastic she had on the floor....for a cloth...]
Have I already posted this???? The full photo of Dad on the beach pinned to the fabric.
Megan, 4, was coloring when she was here Sunday. I found these later.
Way to Go Megan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The back of the Buffalo Sunrise, in case you wanna see it. Not all the batt has backing fabric over it....I just let it be....
Suppose this shot should be up with the painting....see those toes? they left little white spots all down the hallway....

My Dad part 2

As you can see, I cut off quite a bit of the original photo. I want to make Dad larger, to fit the fabric Vicki Welsh made for me. I didn't use a flash on this one, but look how perfect a match it is!!!

Here is the right side of the fabric piece, folded over on the back. I love this side too, but I really think I need to go with the 'wrong' side of it this piece. It just spoke volumes to me when I pulled it out of the envelope, and frankly I didn't even turn it over until later to see the 'right' side. Thank You Vicki!!!
I love this! Dorothy took my original posted picture and to quote her, "But I saved a copy and ran it through the colour correction in iPhoto. I think the pink is awesome, but here ya go." Isn't it funny? Dad and his flood water pants!

Now this. This is Steph's latest creation, as of yesterday.
She found the yellow button at Joann's and had to have it. Then she found the sash thingie in her stuff, the zippers in my sewing room right above the machine.
Unfortunately she likes to use black thread, and the black I have is crap, so I will have to indulge in some other threads for her.

My Dad

These were dyed by Vicki Welsh just for me! Oh Yeah! Her camera shows the beach as a more tan color and my eyes see it more terra-muted-cotta. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the perfect color match with the photo. {I have taken my own pic, will show later}
This photo. My mom took this picture of my dad, the old coot as he once called himself. They were on the Oregon Coast and I am guessing this was taken before 1984, the year he died. I can't date it by the clothes because this was his normal casual look. The picture itself has gone through a color change over the years, but I don't know the pro term for it, so I say it went pink. I've scanned it and have it ready to print as is....or not....I haven't messed with it yet in any other photo program {the freebies}. But I haven't any other color in my printer.....except this pinky color.....too funny!

Family Resemblance---sans zee mustaches

Meg got another hair cut....I love love love this length! She reminds me of Mary Engelbreit's Ann Estelle!
fresh picked....looks fake here.....
and sparkly here....go ahead, enlarge it to see, I will wait.....

Rhiley had to get in on the family look, not to mention Megan and Lily, but of course.
Baby hugs!

Short Story ....before I forget!

Steph and her Boyfriend took Megan and Lily to the school playground yesterday. Megan decided that S. was the queen, BF was the king and she and Lily were the princess's. At one point Meg went to "get the Prince."

When asked what the Prince does, Megan replied:
"He does the love. She does the kissing."

The perfect Kingdom according to a 4 year old.
