Flashback Friday on Wed.

I haven't done any flashback's lately....until this morning when the phone rang. Old friend. Loves getting my yearly holiday letter. Yeah! She got me caught up on what is going on in Sierra City/Downieville. I have posted pictures of the area before. It's been 10 years at least since I have talked to this woman, so that is a real flashback! I get calls quite often from my BF in that area, so now I am caught up on other news too.

Pictures. What the heck is that, you say. Squirrel Poop, say I. I think, I add. We had the trash sitting on the deck for a couple of days because the trash can was full from the holiday feasting and such. The dogs were going nuts [smirk] one day so I did my human-ly duty and looked outside to see what the cause was. There was the back end of a large gray squirrel whose front end was hidden in the box of really bad chocolates I threw away. It was picking out the ones with the peanuts in them....I kid you not, I saw it in his/her mouth as he/she scampered away. [yes, the squirrel scampered] Of course I couldn't get the camera in time.....So this morning I noticed the squirrel is still looking for the chocolates, which have since been dumped in the emptied trash can. I don't think the squirrel thought much of my housekeeping.

Said Ahhhh? Good.

  1. Oh gosh, Vicky, is that your Rocket? You commented before that he was just like my Goldie. Well, lemme say unless that is a larger than it appears Sterlite tub, Rocket is Goldies MUCH smaller brother. I think for the Gold-man to lie down, we'd need one of those 55 gallon deals. He's monsterous (weighs darn close to 23 pounds)

  3. I just love your stories. Things happen at your house that don't happen anywhere else! =) Love the cat in the box, too. How exciting to hear from a long "lost" friend!

  4. Dorothy the bucket is a 15 qt. and if you look closely, Rocket is squeezed into it, there isn't even room in there for his tail! I would have to buy a cat seat and ticket for him should I go flying. I will have to find a yard stick and when he starts scratching on it, as he would because it's wood, I will take a picture of him.

  7. Eve I think you may be right on the squirrel being female...as I thought about your comment I realized, as I gazed at the picture in my leetle hade, that there was something missing from the rear area of that squirrel....but then the tail was down....excuse me while I go holler for the squirrel and straighten this out.....
