Update on FrankenStitch

Did I mention how much I loved doing these circles?
I wanted to see how things would look if they encountered another circle...
...and how they would look in different stitch lengths and widths between rows...
...and then go back and fill in between rows and pull the threads tighter....
...and then it was time to move onto another stitch.
Buttonhole/blanket stitch.  Done with perle cottons, which I happened to have in different oranges....the last one is really a rust color....
And how the whole base looks right now. Prolly should have been the first picture.
This is base #1 with a few new things also....blanket stitch additions...
 ...and peek-a-boo spots....
...and...and...things around the circle.  Silica? Fur? Legs?

Sadness yesterday.  My granddaughters other great-grandmother, GG, on their mommy's side, died yesterday.  She had been in the hospital for a couple of days with an infection, where she had a heart attack. GG was in her late 80's like my mom, but she never got dementia, so she has been with it for many more years than my mom was.
We have the girls today and maybe all week.

  1. I'm sorry about GG. It's such a hole when we lose that last generation.

I could go round and round telling you how much I love the variegated thread you used, and how great it is to see you playing...

Holy Mole-y...it's looking great. And so are Ashley's cupcakes!!!!

  4. Hi Vicky,
I was wondering if you could use the Frankenstitch to couch down that blue water line in your magic diaries cloth?

  5. mo...i will have to think on this...i hadn't thought about distorting the cloth, which could be more interesting than just keeping it flat....
