I Don't Care

I don't LIKE that combo of words.
Last night I got mad at someone in my family who said those words.
For 20 odd years I have been told those words in regards to many many questions, from the super simple to the very complex. They have not made my life more pleasant, that's for sure!
Then last night when I asked a very important question of the next generation, that was the answer I got, "I don't care."
I got mad.
Not as mad as I felt I could have gotten, but mad enough to say something about it. I DON"T WANT to see a member of my family go through the misery of years of listening to those words. I just wish I could explain this to the person without getting all pissed off about it.
But I will find a way.

  1. Mom I talk to him about it too. I don't like it either. You also don't have to worry, because he does not say it that much. I will talk to him more about why he said it yesterday for such an important thing. It was funny because on the way over we talked about how he likes joking with you and how you probably like it when he does. He does not understand why he gets so quiet and in that MOOD sometimes. I wanted to kick him yesterday, and I probably made it worse by trying to get him to cheer up. Me and my mouth! Which I get from you!

  3. Thank you Christine. Yes I am a caring person, despite the lack of 'care' from another.

  4. I'm sorry. It sounds both vexing and delicate.
